Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Yep, if you couldn't tell, it must have snowed last night. Not very much, but enough to lightly cover the ground. I will post some pictures later. So now to start telling my stories.....better get a cup of hot chocolate and plan to stay put for a bit. So on Friday, about two hours before I was supposed to be on the plane (but for which I was still at my apartment) I decided to change my flight to leave on Monday instead of Sunday. This took about 45 minutes to get all the details in place. That left me about 15 minutes to pack and leave for the airport. Good thing that the airport is very small and not very many people were there. I made it to the airport in about 15 minutes, parked my car in the garage and made it to security very quickly as well. Then I had to wait the additional time to just get on the plane. The flight went well. The flight attendant was very funny. She started off by saying "I am know going to go over the safety procedures of this plane, please pretend to follow along and pull out your safety card"....later she announced "I will know be dimming the lights to enhance my appearance as I come around to check on you"...it was pretty funny and I was the only one chuckling. Then I had a two hour layover at JFK.....holy smokes, that is one big airport. I ate some dinner and then boarded my plane. I saw some Elders who were coming home from there missions, so I talked to one who was going to Mesa. As we started to taxi to the runway, I knew something was wrong when I could count the 15 planes in front of us. Then the pilot came on over the PA and said that there was 25 planes in front of us, plus the incoming traffic and another lane of planes as well. He told us it would be at least an hour, but it took close to two just to make it to the #1 spot. Finally we took off. I was tired, but not tired enough to sleep no matter how hard I tried. Finally I got to Phoenix and found Savannah dressed up as a penguin. It was very cute! She told me that it is not going to happen again!! On Saturday, we got me fitted for my tux and just did the wedding stuff. It was nice to see everyone and I can't wait to come back for Christmas! Glad that Tyler and Jenny are happy as well. At the reception, everyone kept on asking me when I was flying home and I was like well sometime, not quite sure, I haven't opened my emails yet....I didn't want anyone to know that I had changed my flight and telling my parents!!! (Of course, I did tell Grampy on Friday so that he knew I was staying for Sunday dinner). So on Sunday, I got all ready to leave for the airport and left the house. Then Savannah and I stayed at Grampy's house for the next couple of hours and got ready for church. When we walked into the chapel, Mom and Dad were very surprised!!! Mom was like what happened, did you miss your flight.....it was pretty neat! Sunday dinner was very good and I sure enjoyed spending time with the family. Then on Monday we packed again (this time for real!) and I took a bunch of Savannah's clothes. Now, don't worry, she still has some to wear at home! The flight to Cincinnati was running late and I almost missed my connection. The plane got into Cincinnati about 7:20 and my connecting flight was leaving at 7:30. I was supposed to have about a two hour layover but I didn't! So I was running through this airport (which is VERY VERY HUGE!!!) trying find get C36. Come to find out it was in the middle of a concourse which you had to take a shuttle too. Then at this concourse, it had about 73 gates! So I had to run to gate 36 and barely made it through the door. Well then I find out that I had run down another hallway just to get on the plane. I was very lucky to get on the plane and not miss it. When we got into Burlington, it was very cold. I have decided I really like cold weather than hot weather. Then I had to wait about an hour for our luggage to arrive via a bigger plane that could hold it all! I drove home and went to bed....I was very tired. But about 2:30AM I could hear this noise and it was icy rain pelting my bedroom window. I knew it was going to snow and sure enough when I woke up, there was snow on the ground. Guess I will have to play in it by myself since no one is out here with me! Thanks to all for the great weekend!
