Update for Jan 4- Jan 12

Jan 4
We had our reception that day, which was absolutely beautiful! Jen Hoops was the decorator, and there were a bunch of other ladies from the ward, and friends that helped make the food, and clean everything up. Thanks to everyone who helped, and a HUGE thanks to Dena, since she was the one who put everything together. We got up in the morning, and had breakfast, and continued doing laundry and packing a bit. My parents and sister and brother and their family were in mesa, so we went to the hotel they were staying in, and hung out for a bit there. One of my sisters had a birthday on Jan 3, so I made a really ugly cake (it was awful looking!) and my mom bought some pizza, and we all ate pizza and cake by the pool at the hotel. After that, we went back to the house, and got ready for the reception, and then we walked across the street. Aaron wanted to drive, but I thought it would be fun to walk. We had a good turn out for the reception, and the food was great! Not that I actually ate any, until back at the house, but everyone really liked it! We went back to the house and opened all the gift cards and presents, and Jacque and Darleen helped us with that, and Dena helped too. We finished with that around midnight, and back downstairs we went, to finish packing....one could say I like to pack last minute! We actually got done pretty early, but decided to make a late night/ early morning run to the bank to deposit the money we got, and then we drove to the hotel that my parents were staying in, and broke into my car. Not that we really had to break in, because the dumb thing wouldn't lock, but I sang a action movie theme song, and we ran across the parking lot with our hands in the shape of guns.....apparently the lateness was getting to us! We put gas in the car (I forgot to do it earlier) and then we finally went home to bed. It was around 3:30am when we got there, and the alarm was set for 5am.

Jan 5
We got up and showered, and left around 5:45, with Uncle Daryl driving us. We got to the airport in plenty of time, made it through security, got on the plane, and promptly fell asleep! Apparently some time during the flight I had taken my seatbelt off (I don't remember doing this) and was woken up by someone shaking my arm and saying "put your seatbelt on!" I guess we hit some turbulence, but it wasn't bad enough to wake us up! We got to the Chicago airport, I ate a hotdog, and Aaron ate a tuna fish sandwich, and then we got on the plane for Burlington. I fell asleep on Aaron's arm before we even taxied down the runway, and woke up just as we were flying in to Burlington. Our home teacher came and picked us up, and we made it to the house just fine. There was some snow on the car, and we had to haul all the luggage upstairs. Have you ever tried to wheel luggage through snow? I did, and it didnt work! After our home teacher left, we went downstairs weilding snowshovels, and started digging around the car. We finally got done 45 minutes later, and went to Walmart to pick up our air mattress, some soup and milk, $5 pots and pans that now belong to Aaron, and then headed home. We had a gourmet dinner of Dinty Moore Beef Stew, and then went to sleep.

Jan 6
We set the alarm for 8am to shower and make it to church, but we were both so tired we went back to bed and woke up at 1pm....oops! We had more soup, tried to put things away, and went back to bed a couple hours later.

Jan 7
Aaron had class, I drove him, and went back to the house and fell asleep! I was putting things away, and sorting through things when Aaron came home between classes, and ruined my surprise. He came to surprise me for lunch, and ruined my surprise of having the kitchen cleaned up! I got the kitchen cleaned up, and then we headed off to Bed Bath and Beyond to get some good stuff! We were there for a few hours, and came out with all our gift cards used up! We left everything in the car, and went upstairs to bed! Apparently all the mountain air has made me extra tired!

Jan 8
Unloaded everything we got, unpacked it, went to Walmart and bought more stuff, unpacked it, went to staples and bought more stuff, unloaded it, Aaron went to class somewhere in that mix, and then we went to bed!

Jan 9-12
Aaron goes to class, I stay home and sort through stuff, take beauty naps, and distract Aaron from his homework!
The pics are ones taken then night we got there, and the next day of the kitchen, and our porch area.
