HTCIA

I had the opportunity to attend my first HTCIA conference yesterday. You ask, what is the HTCIA...well it is the High Technology Crimes Investigation Association. The conference was held in New Hampshire....(yes Mom, New Hampshire is a state)....and was three hours away from Burlington. So what time did I have to get up at? 4AM with a leave time of 5AM to get there. I went with 8 other students. The head our program (Gary Kessler) was there as well. At the conference, we learned all about different methods of cybercrime (sorry, I can't comment on any particulars) and then it was over. It only lasted about half a day, but we had quite a few Federal, state, and local law enforcement that joined us. The place we had the conference in was pretty secure as well. They had corporate security guards checking us out but they must have missed the cops with the guns because we saw quite a few with service weapons. The conference had a raffle and this nice lady was handing out tickets. I took one (thinking to myself, I will never win). As the conference started, they called out the raffle numbers and guess what?!??!??.....I was the first person who won a prize....$25! Gary commented to me "good thing I came"....All in all, fun times were had and I learned quite a few things.
