Airplanes, time zone changes, and my own bed!

I have decided that taking four airplane rides in a 24 hour period (according to Savannah it was more like 31) is really not fun. Monday afternoon (around 4:30) I took off for Salt Lake City for an interview with American Express Global Security. After an incident with security (who has yet to hear my complaints, but they surely will) I got onto the last plane for the day that was headed to JFK. At JFK, I had an hour wait and then made it onto the plane for SLC. I arrived in SLC at 11:30pm (local time). Luckily I had a few hours of sleep on the plane. The hotel that American Express had for me was really nice (once I download my pictures from my phone, I will post them here) and the bed was great! The hotel had a great breakfast buffet (sorry no pictures) and then I got all ready to leave. I was only 40 minutes early. I had the directions and had looked at map beforehand, but I guess the cab driver got there quicker than was expected. So I sat around downstairs until the Lab Director came and brought me upstairs. The security around this building was pretty cool. They had two-level authentication with biometrics. The interview was quite interesting and I got to tell them all about myself. Then I took a 25 question technical test and was only given 10 minutes. I got all but two right. Afterwards they gave me a tour of the building and then dropped me off at the airport. The plane from SLC to Detroit was only 45 minutes behind schedule so that meant I had to literally run from the A terminal to the C terminal (with a shuttle ride too) to catch my connection to Burlington. Luckily I made it with minutes to spare. Then I couldn't fall asleep when I got home (which is all I wanted to do) until a couple hours later. Now, I'm awake and headed to class. What a fun trip!

I believe that I would really like working for American Express (otherwise I probably wouldn't have applied) and the job seems right up my speciality. They told me that I needed to give them a couple of weeks to decide but they would let me know either way. I really liked the people I met and SLC is quite close to home (at least closer than Vermont)!
