I've been wondering...

If you do something with a bad attitude, but still do it, do you get the blessings of doing it? Like, if you were asked to take someone to church every week, and you really couldn't stand this person and totally complained in your head the whole time, but you did it anyway- do you get the blessings? Part of them? Maybe a watered down blessing? Or if you have a calling and you REALLY don't want that calling, but you fulfill it; are the blessing there?

p.s.- These are not real scenarios for us, I just made them up.

I think you would still get some blessings. I'm sure that if you strived to change your attitude towards the situation, the blessings would be better.

P.S. I don't know if I ever thanked you for getting Jason going back to church, but from the bottom of my small, cold heart, I thank you so much. =)

I don't know if "E" for effort works on this. I'm sure there is murmuring in all callings/service. But if you are waiting for some guidance or an answer to your prayers, maybe he is waiting for hearts to soften and the love to be a pure love.

For every kept promise or commandment, there is a blessing. Heavenly Father is unwaveringly fair.
I had a seminary teacher who, on the first day of class, announced that she didn't want to be there, and that she actually cried when she was called to teach early morning seminary. But she fulfilled her calling, and she did it well, even though she hated it. Over the course of the year, she became the most enthusiastic seminary teacher, and you could tell she loved it (and she eventually became the secretary to the fulltime seminary teacher later). I think that because she was faithful, despite her attitude, she was richly blessed, more than anyone (including herself, probably) ever expected. Only good can come from turning your will to God, even if it doesn't feel like it. :)

Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know your heart. They will bless you according to the desires of your heart. I've dragged my feet on some things and realized the blessings later. My opinion (if you wanted it...ha!) is it's between you and the Godhead.
