The joy of making people laugh

What fun I get to have with lots of different people. This time it was the sister missionaries. They called me on Tuesday night asking if Sister Weech and I could go with them to an appointment on Wednesday. Now I am in the midst of finals and Savannah was just getting off of work and had RS enrichment later that night, but the poor sister sounded like she needed help. So I told her yes. Wednesday comes and about 10 minutes before the appointed time, I get a phone call from the sister missionaries. This is how it all played out:

Me: Hello?

Sisters: Hi Brother Weech, this is the sister missionaries just calling to see if you are at the parking lot where we are supposed to meet for our appointment.

Me: Appointment? What are you talking about? I thought that the appointment was for tomorrow (all the while sitting at the designated location). Where are you right now?

Sisters: Oh (said in a panic stricken voice)....um.....well actually the appointment was for today at 5pm. Are you close by and maybe you could still come? We were just leaving our apartment.

Me: (Now driving to their apartment, because it's about 1 minute away) Well sisters, I am not sure, I thought that the appointment was set for tomorrow. I am really sorry (and now sitting in front of their apartment), let me talk to my wife and see what we can do.

Sisters: (cuts in)...well this investigator seems really nice, maybe we can reschedule for tomorrow? (a hint of hopefullness in her voice)

Me: Well actually sister, my wife and I are sitting in front of your apartment, so if you and your companion would like a ride, come on out.

Sisters: WHAT??!!?? Are you kidding? You mean......oh man....okay we are coming out.

Once they came out, they told us that we were pretty good and that a member has never done that to them. They said we couldn't even tell in your voice that you were kidding. Savannah just said that I have had lots of practice (although she said it wasn't on her). The sisters said that they would get us back, but I don't think so. Oh...did I mention that it was the new sister in the ward who I played this joke on? Hahahaha........
