I have been home now for one whole week. I probably will get to stay home for quite a while as well and will not have to travel. Savannah is happy about that! You see, the company was able to hire someone in New Jersey and so I don't have to travel as much out there as I have been. One of the Saturdays that I was in NJ, I was able to cross a bridge and head into NYC. I didn't last very long! They can't drive worth beans and I quickly turned the rental car around to head back to NJ. It was very very scary! I didn't realize how close I was to seeing Manhattan, but I still don't know if that would have persuaded me to continue onward. I was able to see a few sites in NJ such as Thomas Edison's laboratory, some old buildings, and downtown Newark. I was going to go to the museum's in Newark, but they opened at noon and I didn't want to wait 3 hours for them to open, so I just drove around instead. On the last Friday before I left, Hurricane Earl was coming and so I went to the beach to watch the waves. They were pretty big and no one was allowed on the beach. Luckily, the storm passed and I didn't get washed away. Savannah figured it out and for the whole 10 weeks of summer, I was gone for 7 of them. I am happy that I didn't have to deal with the heat, but sure am glad to be back home as well.
Savannah has just been working away and says that she doesn't get to have any of the fun that I have! Maybe one day she can travel with me!
