Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.......

So what day is it?? Oh it's Friday. You are all probably wondering why I have not been updating this site like I did on a daily basis. Well let me tell you why: On Wednesday night (around 11:30pm my time) I started to feel funny. I just thought that maybe I was hungry and heated up a quick frozen potatoes and cheese meal (hey it was 12AM, i wanted to go to bed!!). And I was talking to dad at this time as well. Well after finishing my talk with dad, I went to the bathroom (just went into the bathroom, I didn't really go....) and that is when I started to feel a lot of pain in my stomach. I just thought that it was my stomach acting up from the IBS I had last semester......anyways the pain kept on getting worse and finally after 45 minutes, I went to see the RA (resident assistant) who called an ambulance. We didn't know what was causing the pain, but it was horrible and not fun. So the Fire Squad from up the street (it was another college's rescue squad) came and I was taken to the hospital. The RA came with me as well. After a long time they gave me some pain drugs and that helped to calm me down. Oh also it was 60 degrees outside, but do you think that I was cold.....oh no.....I was sweating like a pig. But I did not have a temperature. My vitals were a little higher than normal, so something was definitely wrong. So the hospital did some blood work and all the while I was still in pain, but not as much, and was telling them I really had to go to the bathroom. So they bring in this little bathroom thing and said have fun. Well I tried to go but it was not happening. Then after laying back on the bed, I started to throw up. That was quite not so fun either. So I got another drug to help with my nausea. Then the PA (physician assistant) came back and told me that I was fine and my blood work was normal. I was like "dude, something is not right". I told him that I had to go to the bathroom but nothing was coming out. The PA wanted to hook up a cathter to help relieve me, but instead he called in the internal medicine doctor who did an ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed that my bladder was empty. So I got another round of IV's and pain drugs (this time it was morphine because my pain had returned). Then off I went to the CAT scan room. After the CAT scan, it was determined that I had a kidney stone. And it was so close to coming out that I was prescribed some pain drugs and sent home (around 6AM). So Thursday I spent in bed and Friday I was in bed. I am feeling better and have passed something (hopefully the stone) because I am not in so much pain. My rooommates have been really nice and helped me out a lot too. So basically that has been the past three days. Today (friday) I am not going to class and am just going to relax and hope that I can get some more sleep. I will let everyone know what continues to happen. (oh sorry, no pics to post.....haha).
