So, here I am, on a friday afternoon, it's snowing outside and I have all the windows open and the fan on in the house. Why? No, I'm not crazy (well...maybe a little) but we got new downstairs neighbors and they SMOKE!!! EWWW!!!!! They moved in 3 days ago, and they night they got here we could smell the smoke seeping into our apartment. We're not sure if they smoke in their apartment or not, but they smoke in the common area and they smoke cigars, which smell stronger than cigarettes do, so all the smoke rises to the 2nd and 3rd floors. We called the management company and they are supposed to send a letter stating that smoking is only allowed in the apartment and outside, not in the common area, but since we're right above them, we'll still smell it in our apartment. We haven't re-signed the lease yet, so we're debating on staying here (we both really love our little apartment) or trying to find a new place....we don't know what to do. Any ideas? Comments? Input would be great!
Anyways, on to a happier subject! Thursday night Aaron had a DFA (Digital Forensics Association) get together at the Pizza Put. I was allowed to go, and so we spent the night hanging out with more geeks! Actually, it was a really good time, because we got one free round of laser tag, so all the members of the DFA that were there went in together, as a giant free-for-all game. I BEAT AARON!!! In a 7.5 minute game, I got a score of 2,150, I was hit 26 times (ok, not so great) and I hit 21 people. I fired a total of 139 shots (Ok, I need to work on that too...) and had an accuracy of 15%. Not the greatest stats, I know, but I'm determined to get better!! Anyways, Aaron had a score of 1,775, he was hit 34 times (5 times by me, he only hit me 4 times) he hit 29 people, fired a total of 267 shots (notice he shot over 100 more times than I did, and only hit 8 more people than me!) and had an accuracy of 10%. It was a really fun time, and we definately plan on going back again!!!

Awh, we had the problem when we lived in Texas. Open only the windows that aren't facing the same way. Put a candle or insense (That's what I use to use before candles) in the front room with a fan only facing the candle, so the fragrance follows. We also did plug-ins and lysol spray. There is no getting away from it...but at least you can swallow the smell a little. Much luck to ya
I say ya head out and move over here...so we can be neighbors. :)
Vanessa....that might be an idea! How much is it? Are they for rent, or would we have to buy the dang thing?
We love where we're renting and it's not too expensive. We live in the Twin Oaks Condos, and there are always places up for rent. We pay $975 a month, but it's a great location and two bedrooms.
Let me know if you want any more info....we've been really happy here....and NO smokers..thank goodness. So sorry you have to put up with that, that totally stinks.
Get the heck out of there you guys! smoke inhalation can cause so many long term health problems!
