The rest of the story...

When I was a kid that was my favorite talk radio station to listen to. Does anyone remember who did it though? It was this friendly old man with a santa clause voice...I can't remember. Anyways, I figured I better finish blogging our vacation or I'll never get it done! Ok, so I finished up to Wednesday in Utah...man, there's a long way to go! Thursday the kids had swimming lessons in the morning, so me and my sister packed up the gear to go fishing/ day camping at Pine Lake. We got off to a great start, everything was fabulous! We took 2 trucks to fit everyone and everything, and then about 8 of us headed up. We got there and set up camp, and my brother in law was busy getting all the fishing poles set up when my dad, sisters Heidi and Rachel, and a few more nephews showed up. There are too many to list, but we'll just say that everyone but my mom (she was taking a well deserved nap!) and Ethan (a very adorable kid around 2) were at home. All the nephews went fishing with my brother in law, Carlon, and Aaron, and then me and Jordan showed up a little while later. Here are some shots...

Traffic was terrible! ;)

Da boyz!

Fishing... Some of the cousins and one of the fish they caught.

Fishing isn't my dad's favorite things in the world, since he pretty much just sits there and untangles everyone elses lines, so he stayed back at the campsite and made some killer potatoes, chicken, and peach cobbler. Mmmm!

I accidentally jinxed my nephew Isaac. He caught the first fish of the day, and it was a big one too! It was wriggling around, and I said "what if it gets away", and right then the line broke. I wasn't allowed to say anything again! The boys caught a total of 11 fish, but 3 got away, but they still had fun! Last year when we went to Pine Lake Aaron showed me how to gut a fish, but I didn't touch the fish, just looked at it. This year I promised to touch the fish, so I came prepared!

That's right, rubber gloves! I put on 2 layers, just in case!

I was kinda grossed out at first, I'm not gonna lie!

I got used to it after a few minutes though and didn't have a problem. Aaron grilled them up with a little lemon juice and oil, and it was really yummy!
It was a great day, we left around 10 pm, and were all very tired the next day!

Friday was a looong day. I was dragging all day. I thought I was just tired, and we didn't want to leave, so we postponed it until 5 pm. A little late, for sure...we should have left sooner, but it's so hard to leave! We drove to cedar and had lunch with my old friends from college, and afterwards I was not feeling well at all. I thought maybe it was the food or something, but whatever it was, I was not very chipper! We stayed in Cedar until around 11 pm and then decided to head to Vegas. I still haven't taugh Aaron how to drive a stick yet (technically he's driven one before, but it's been a while) so I was driving. About an hour and a half outside of Vegas, in Mesquite I was really not doing well, so I pulled over to the side of the road and puked all over a stop sign.

I was not very happy about that, because I haven't tossed the cookies in over 10 years. My reign has ended! We made it to vegas and spent a long night having the flu at my sister's boyfriends' mom's house. Not very fun! I asked Aaron to give me a blessing around 3 am, and finally was able to fall asleep for a few hours, but we missed my cousin's wedding, sad day. We tried to get our flight to Orlando changed, but they said it would cost $1,200 per person to change the flight so we dragged ourselves to the airport. We must have looked pretty bad, because the ticket agent put us on the bump list, and then changed our seats to the exit row, so we would have more room! About halfway through the flight we had the nicest steward come by. He asked me if I was feeling ok, and I squeeked "no". He gave me a can of ginger ale and told me to sip on it, and if I didn't feel better he would find me some medicine to take. I fell asleep for a little while and he kept coming over and asking Aaron if I was ok. He was so nice! The ginger ale really helped too, because I was feeling a lot better during our layover and on the second flight. Phew!

Paul Harvey always told the rest of the story! I used to listen to it on my Dad's alarm clock every morning. Sounds like a blast of a trip.
