This last weekend was very nice. Savannah flew to Denver to surprise her sister who was graduating from medical residency. I took her to the airport bright and early on Friday morning. The plan was for her to meet her parents in Denver and then travel to Des Moines to meet up with the other family. Savannah's parents were bringing along some nephews and a niece to attend EFY in Nauvoo. After I dropped Savannah off, I headed to Des Moines. On the way, I stopped by Adam-Ondi-Ahman for a much needed rest. It was very peaceful and lightly raining at this time in the morning. She even let me take her new car! The family in Des Moines was not expecting me until Saturday so it was quite the surprise when I knocked on their door at 11:30! I got to head to Costco with the 2 youngest ones and we had fun at the tasting tables. One of the tables was a blueberry frozen greek yogurt. No one wanted to eat it, so I got my sample and then it was commandeered by this cute little girl. I should point out that she did offer me a bite.
I had a great time winning monopoly (please note that the nephew is $150 in the negative and has nothing to his name).
Savannah and the rest of the gang arrived later on Saturday, after a long and fun car ride. On Sunday, we attended Church and were able to watch another nephew (who just turned 12) receive the priesthood. Then we all relaxed for the rest of the day. Since Savannah and I had Monday off, we stayed until Tuesday morning and then headed back. One of our favorite places to go is this homemade fudge shop. We bought the fudge and promptly left it in Des Moines! We sure hope that the family enjoyed it!
