Aaron's birthday / trip to Des Moines

Poor Aaron got the shaft this year for his birthday.  He turned the big 3-0 and I didn't even make him a cake!  Instead, I dragged him to Des Moines to spend time with my family for the weekend.  I made biscuits and gravy for breakfast though, so he was happy.  Also, one of his co-workers brought in a massive (apparently, anyway.  I asked for a slice, or even a picture, but got nary a word) ice cream cake. He received lots of phone calls and cards, which he appreciated.  He got a limited edition Lego set, but I'm being mean and won't let him assemble it until we have a house because we are plumb out of room in our apartment!

The drive to Des Moines was very nice- we got there late Friday night, Saturday was spent watching General Conference and the men-folk going to Priesthood session.  I guess he technically got to go to dinner with our nephews before Priesthood, so that should count, right?

Sunday was very nice, basically the same as Saturday- lounging around and watching conference.  We drove back home that evening so Aaron could make it to work on Monday

Yes, I did in fact make him eat off a plastic plate on his birthday.  Rude?  maybe.  Practical?  Oh yes!
