Yesterday we had another snow storm. Parking bans declared, Champlain testing their emergency alert system (too bad it was a test!), and the fun of watching people slide around in the snow. This storm brought over 9.9 inches. It was one of the heaviest this season. Couple that with the snow that was already here and the snow banks were as high as my knees. I went to school in the morning just fine with it just starting to snow, but by late afternoon the snow was coming down pretty heavily and I had to go back to school for my late night class. Savannah was on her way home and called saying that she needed me home to shovel the driveway because it was so thick. I told her I had class and to just park on the street. Well.....she decided to try the driveway (now this isn't a normal drive way....it is up on a bit of a hill) and got stuck. While in class I get this text saying that the neighbor had to help her get unstuck and she just parked the car on the side of the road but it wouldn't get towed (due to the parking ban) until 10pm. When I got home (not only was I tired from walking in the snow, but I was hungry as well) I shoveled and shoveled and pushed and pushed the car until we got it unstuck from the side of the road (because more snow had fallen) and then we got it up the hill. YEAH!!!.....until we couldn't park because of more snow. We both took turns (since we only have 1 shovel) shoveling snow and then our wonderful snow plower (who we pay as part of the lease) finished the rest of the parking lot.
Then this morning as I was coming back from taking Savannah to work I saw all those people shoveling their driveways and thought to myself my driveway is done! I am so glad that I didn't have to shovel my driveway and make Savannah late for work. It would have taken me a few hours!

We have 3 shovels...but I'm real tempted at getting a snowblower. We haven't had a bad snow storm since Dec. So I really can't complain...just ice!
