For those of you who do not know, I really enjoy learning about history. With that being said, I learned that the Independence Visitor Center had a new exhibit that had pictures from the early 1900's that followed historical sites dealing with Joseph Smith. It is called "In the Footsteps of Joseph Smith".
The Church had called this guy on a mission during 1907 or so to go around to historic sites that Joseph had been at and document (with photos) what they looked like. It was very interesting since we have been at almost every site (from Sharon, VT to Palmyra, NY then into Missouri, Nauvoo and finally Carthage). It was amazing to see how the sites looked 100 years ago and then to remember how they looked when Savannah and I visited them. The pictures were amazing. This gentlemen must have had a state of the art camera, because the pictures were large, crisp, and still visible.
After our trip to Independence, we drove around the area and saw some deer jumping around in a large field. It was crazy because KC is only 20 minutes away. How many places can you see wildlife while still in the city?
