And it has started....
Many of you know that I have quite the collection of Legos. This continues to this day. Savannah has recently decided that "yes, some of the Legos I have are cute". If that is how I can continue with my collection, I will take it. Anyways, the other day we were at the mall and what is a trip to the mall without a stop at the Lego store? The day before I had just received my order and was not planning on buy any. Savannah on the other hand found something that was cute and "practical".

Independence Visitor Center new exhibit
The Church had called this guy on a mission during 1907 or so to go around to historic sites that Joseph had been at and document (with photos) what they looked like. It was very interesting since we have been at almost every site (from Sharon, VT to Palmyra, NY then into Missouri, Nauvoo and finally Carthage). It was amazing to see how the sites looked 100 years ago and then to remember how they looked when Savannah and I visited them. The pictures were amazing. This gentlemen must have had a state of the art camera, because the pictures were large, crisp, and still visible.
After our trip to Independence, we drove around the area and saw some deer jumping around in a large field. It was crazy because KC is only 20 minutes away. How many places can you see wildlife while still in the city?

Our Latest Adventures
Everyone who knows my wife will smile at our next place we visited. It was the downtown City Market. We went there on Saturday and really spent all afternoon looking at all the different items that people were selling. We ended up purchasing all of our produce and then as we were leaving, we found a "garage sale" that was taking place in the city park and Savannah ended up purchasing this vase. She thinks it is cute, so that is all that matters, right?

Italian Buffet
Then came Friday night...with all the fun places to eat, Savannah and I have a hard time determining what we should try next. So, we drove around and finally settled on a place called Cinzettis. It is an all you can eat Italian buffet. Savannah liked the idea of the 16 flavors of ice cream. Well, this place had a 20 minute wait, okay that's fine....wait....wait....wait...finally I was fed up with waiting and went to ask when it was going to be our turn.
The "nice" hostess said "well I paged you and you never came, so we moved on". I calmly replied "oh, our buzzer never went off", she said "yes it did, were you sitting outside?"; in my nice kind voice informed her that we were inside the entire time waiting and that "she was wrong and our buzzer never did go off." She promptly took the buzzer out of my hand and punched the digits into her control panel........oh wait.....it didn't go off. She then commented that "it must be defective". Wow, thanks. I didn't move. She looked at me and I said "when are we going to be seated since our buzzer never went off." She took her radio and said "I need a table, the customer is up front looking at me". See, if you are polite, things will happen and I didn't even threaten to call a manager (but I should have!)
Since it was our first time, we were given the tour and told all about the food. Then we were told to enjoy! The food was really good and we really liked the atmosphere. For dessert, Savannah had her 16 scoops of ice cream and I got a banana strawberry crepe. If anyone ever visits, we will take you there!

New Car
For the past few months, Savannah has had to walk 2 miles to work. While this was okay, it has been getting quite warm....so Savannah decided that she needed a car. I thought okay, we can afford to get a car that doesn't cost a lot or need a lot of work. We both started to look at different options. Finally, we drove to the car dealership for a test drive. I told Savannah...no matter what we were not going to purchase a car the same day. We had done that and we were not going to do that again.
After driving a few cars, we had made our choice and ended up purchasing a car! It is a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, and it's very nice. According to everyone else who isn't color blind, it's dark blue/black.
