Another visitor!

Remember that software deployment I had to do last week?  It finally went well.  And to top it off, we did it again Wednesday night.  Then on Thursday, Jacque flew into town.  This was a very relaxing trip for everyone. Friday we went to the temple and then traveled to Adam-Ondi-Ahman.  Thanks to Jacque, we found out about an Art festival on the Country Club plaza and went to that later in the evening.  It was amazing to see the talents of all the artists.  The art festival was very packed with people.

On Saturday Jacque and Savannah shopped at one of the bigger malls.  Then for our Sunday trip, we went to Church and visited the Liberty Jail.  For Monday, Savannah booked us all a wonderful massage package.  I have the greatest wife.

Then on Tuesday, we went to the Federal Reserve to see the Money Museum (actually we tried to go on Monday, but for some reason, they require a photo ID and neither Jacque or Savannah had one).  The Money Museum was awesome!  We got to see Huey, Dewey, and Luey (the robots which carried all the money) and also a huge monetary collection from 1789 or so.  We only got to take pictures in certain areas, so this is all you can see!

Then we headed to the World War I monument.  It is the only monument in the world that is only filled with World War I artifacts.  We took about 2 and a half hours to see only 8% of the collection which they had on display.  Even that was not enough time to see it all!  This is from the Liberty Memorial which was built in 1926!

Then we took Jacque to the airport and wished her farewell.

Fun Adventures with my Mom

What an exciting week.  My mom came to visit for Labor Day weekend!  She flew into town on Thursday and we had a whirlwind of a trip planned (which included lots of food stops)!  Thursday night we took her to Jack's Stack BBQ and ordered enough food for an army.  On Friday, we went to the Temple and then headed to Adam-Ondi-Ahman.  It was supposed to be a nice cool day, but instead we got a heat wave.  It was a nice and steady 95!  We had a picnic style lunch and then walked around.  What else are you supposed to do there?  Then we headed to Haun's Mill, Far West, and Richmond.  It was nice to see all the Church history sites again.  For dinner, we went to Unforked which is a local burger joint.  On Saturday, we went to the Santa Cali Gon days festival.  It was probably 100 degrees.  We had prepared just a little better and brought a lot more water!  It was still really hot and humid.  Since the festival was in Independence, we also stopped at the Church of the Temple Lot (which I have been wanting to see forever) and then went to the Church of Christ temple as well.  For dinner, we hit up our favorite Mexican joint, Dos Reales!  Sunday was a nice church day and then we went to Liberty to visit the Historic Jail.  It was a nice relaxing day.  Did I mention that we had good food?  In case I didn't, we did!!  I know that there are no pictures for this post, but as I soon as I get them from my mom, I will update this blog so everyone can enjoy.

Our Latest Adventures

Memorial Day was very nice.  I had the day off and Savannah only had to work in the afternoon. We were able to spend all morning together.  I made breakfast (which consisted of eggs, bacon, cheese, tortillas, and salsa) and then we headed to the pool and hot tub.  Afterwards, we drove around looking at different areas. Don't worry, most of the time, the driver is paying attention to the road! Remember that breakfast I told you about?  Well, for the next couple of days both Savannah and I were not feeling so hot.  We were trying to figure out why.....I finally thought that maybe...just maybe the eggs were bad.  I looked at the expiration date...somehow it had changed.  I thought it read May 27 when I used them, but it actually said March 27!

Our wonderful apartment complex has just opened up both the pool and hot tub.  Savannah and I have a new hobby of going down to the hot tub whenever we can and relaxing in it.  With the weather being so nice, it is great!  The pool is still a little too cold, but the temperatures are supposed to rise into the 90's, so here we come!

Everyone who knows my wife will smile at our next place we visited.  It was the downtown City Market.  We went there on Saturday and really spent all afternoon looking at all the different items that people were selling.  We ended up purchasing all of our produce and then as we were leaving, we found a "garage sale" that was taking place in the city park and Savannah ended up purchasing this vase.  She thinks it is cute, so that is all that matters, right?
